The leading provider of gender-specific, research-based programs for girls, Girls Circle offers the best Materials and Trainings for Facilitators dedicated to improving the lives of girls ages 9 - 18.

The Girls Circle format is applied to programs in areas such as: schools, peer leadership, health education, juvenile justice, economic literacy, athletics, outdoor adventure, pregnancy prevention, boys and girls clubs, gang-prevention, and substance abuse prevention

Girls Circle, a non-profit organization, specializes in programs built on the research-based model proven to increase girls’ self-efficacy, body image, and social support.

Our strengths-based, skill building approach creates a safe space for girls to address risky behaviors, build on protective factors, and improve relationships in a format that interests and engages girls.


Research
A 2007 study indicates that Girls Circle groups are very beneficial to girls' well-being.

Significant findings include:
   •   decreases in alcohol use
   •   decreases in self-harming behaviors
   •   increases in attachment to school
   •   increases in self-efficacy

Training
We also offer On-site and In-service Facilitator Trainings, continuing education, and professional consultation. Since 1997, the Girls Circle approach has been implemented nationwide with girls across every socio-economic, geographical, ethnic, religious population, and sexual orientation.

The Council for Boys and Young Men is a twin venture of the Girls Circle Association. After years of requests from service providers around the nation to create quality group curricula for boys, we have partnered with experienced and knowledgeable professionals working with boys to bring this material to you. The Girls Circle Facilitator Activity Guides are full 8-12 week programs rich with skill-building themes and activities that promote critical thinking in all areas of girls’ lives.

Available in age appropriate sets, each guide offers step-by-step instructions to lead a support circle where girls learn how to develop strength, courage, confidence, honesty, and communication skills.

Theme topics include Friendships, Body Image, Honoring Diversity, Relationships with Peers, Expressing Individuality and creating a Path to The Future.

Mother-Daughter Circle Activity Guide: "Heart of the Matter"

8 WEEKS, AGES 11+
Mothers or Female Caregivers and their daughters join together in combined and age-appropriate groups to strengthen their bonds through shared listening, creative expression, and skill building. "Heart of the Matter" promotes empathy, communication skills, stress reduction, setting limits and honoring boundaries, exploring meanings and messages about female identity, identifying relationship accountability, and experiencing affirmation together and within their broader female community.
